Of course, judging by the lack of craftmanship, you can tell this is not the official site of the Blue Jackets! haha. This is the site for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the GM Hockey League fantasy league.  Please visit http://www.geocities.com/olivia1299/fantasyhockey.html for all the details of this cool league.

Columbus Clinches Spot..eyes 3rd

The Columbus Blue Jackets have clinched their first ever post season birth by way of default this week. A couple losses from other teams and a bunch of teams catching up in games played clinched the spot for them. Currently, the Jackets are slightly trailing the Edmonton Oilers for 3rd place in the conference, a feat that would exceed the expectations set at the start of the season. Columbus GM expected the team to finish 4th, the spot they are in now.

"It doesn't really matter where we finish in respect to who we get..we dont even know who we are going to face.." GM DeBoer said in a press conference, "But the point is, we have something to prove here. We want to be recognized as a top 3 in the mighty Western Conference. We want to be competitive with St. Louis and Chicago."

"The way we've played lately has not been worthy of a top 3 position," Captain Mike Peca said, "We arent hungry enough right now so we are going to make sure we make an impression and get some momentum going into the playoffs"

Columbus Coach Rowan Atkinson has not made any line changes in quite some time but it contemplating some big ones as soon as the next sim. "Its starting to become apparant who the leaders are on this team after our week of trading" That was the most Atkinson has said since his one-liner in the last episode of Mr. Bean, Farewell Mr. Bean.

Jackets Trade Youth for Points

To wrap up a fleury of deadline activity including moves to get Brian Leetch, Jeff O'Neill, Ron Francis, and Greg Devries, the Blue Jackets have acquired 77 rated player Mike Johnson from the Wild. Going the other way was 25 year old JP Dumont.

"This is a move to bolster our third line and gives us some much needed insurance if one of our top six forwards go down," said assistant coach Cosmo Kramer

Mike Johnson, 29, lead the Phoenix Coyotes in points in the real NHL in 2002-2003 season.

"Its an honour to be playing for a team that has a chance to make some noise in the playoffs," Johnson said, " Its going to be quite a luxury for our team to have Bure, O'Neill, and myself down the right side, its going to be fun here, I love the atmoshpere already"
